Supervisor Jim Desmond -Help For Young Women, Back-To-School & Hell’s Kitchen

Casa De Amparo supports those affected by and at risk of child abuse and neglect, through a range of programs and services that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships.

On Thursday, I took part in a very important ribbon cutting for the TrueCare & Lennar Foundation Health Center. This health center will provide medical services to foster girls at Casa De Amparo’s, Casa Kids Campus. I am extremely proud to have this resource in North County!

On Saturday morning, I had the privilege of speaking to the Kiwanis Club of Escondido-Hidden Valley. After my speech, the group surprised me with a commitment to service plaque.

I’m deeply honored by this recognition and want to thank the Kiwanis Club for all the great work they do for our community!

Later that day, I stopped by the California Barber & Beauty College for the 6th Annual Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation Back-To-School Haircut Drive! It was a wonderful event with over 200 kids throughout San Diego County getting a free haircut and free school supplies!

On Friday night, I had the honor of presenting a proclamation to Gordon Ramsey’s newest restaurant, Hell’s Kitchen at Harrah’s Resort Southern California.
