Ticket To Ride: Tribute to the Beatles

It was late at night as I stepped out of ArtBeat on Main Street in downtown Vista. As I started towards my car all the lights up and down Main Street went out. It was so dark that I couldn’t see the curb. I felt with my foot to find the curb and that’s when I heard the hoof beats thundering down Main Street. A black horse appeared with a tall dark clothed rider whose black cape streamed out behind the racing steed. The rider was shouting “The Beatles are coming! The Beatles are coming!” I woke up knowing what I had to do. I rushed to my computer and made the purchases for “Ticket to Ride”.

Authentic costumes, instruments and precise note-for-note renditions of the greatest songs ever written best describes “Ticket To Ride”. It’s America’s leading tribute to the one and only Beatles! Jeff Toczynski is the founder and leader of the band. He formed “Ticket To Ride” in 1999 and the group has toured the world recreating the Beatles live in concert. The show features the lad’s wearing the famous Beatle black suits with thin black tie’s and Beatle boots, the colorful Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band uniforms and they close the show with a trip down Abbey Road!

Mary and I met Jeff when we went to purchase a new car for her birthday many years ago. We were living in Canoga Park back then and we went to David Ellis Chrysler Plymouth because the owner was a Chamber of Commerce member and a big supporter of the Memorial Day Parade that Mary and I had been organizing since 1989. Jeff was their youngest salesman but despite this he was patient with us and intent on selling us a car that we would love. We were difficult and wanted a specific color scheme that had to be ordered from the factory. Jeff didn’t appear to mind at all and we enjoyed the process of buying the car. We enjoyed it even more when Jeff called us to tell us the transport had just delivered our car to the dealership. We hurried down to the dealership and received a surprise. Jeff had remembered that the car was a birthday present and it was sitting in the driveway with a dozen tethered balloons floating just above it.

We were excited when our new friend told us about his musical show “Ticket To Ride”. We’ve seen the show numerous times in Canoga Park, Simi Valley, Seal Beach and here in Vista. It was just a couple of years after we moved to Vista that we saw the billboard at the AVO advertising “Ticket to Ride”. We looked at the advertisement twice to make sure it really was Jeff and his band. And now they are coming back to Vista on Saturday, March 5, 2016 with two shows at 3 pm and 7:30 pm.

The show will include some of the greatest songs ever written like, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Help, Get Back and Hey Jude. The band also exudes the witty banter and charm of the one and only Beatles! “Ticket To Ride” is an exciting musical journey through the Best Of The Beatles, opening with their greatest hits from the Sixties through the Sgt. Pepper era with authentic costume changes.

“We love performing at the Avo Playhouse in Vista” says Jeff Toczynski who performs as Paul McCartney in the show. “We always have great and enthusiastic audiences here and we love coming out to the lobby after the shows to say hello to everyone”

Their internationally acclaimed show has been performed worldwide including Japan, and they been called “One of the most authentic Beatles groups you will ever see” by both the British and American Press. This is a fun, family style show suitable for all ages! “Ticket To Ride” captures the fun and excitement of a real Beatles concert. “One of the most talented and in-demand Beatles Tribute Groups working today.” – Las Vegas Sun.
