The Big Reveal
Over the past month, we have debuted a variety of changes to the interior of Tri-City Medical Center as we celebrate our 60 years of service to our communities. These changes included the renaming of our hospital towers after the cities of the District, new wayfinding signage to support that renaming, beautiful new art from renowned local photographer Aaron Chang and a new history wall and history website. This project honors our local communities and provides stunning visual support to ease wayfinding around the facility, among other benefits.

Renaming Our Towers
Tri-City Medical Center serves the needs of our three communities: Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista. We were formed in response to their unique needs and our history is intertwined in the development of the region. Everything we do here at Tri-City Medical Center is for the benefit and health of our local community. In recognition of this important role the three communities of the Tri-City Healthcare District play in our history, we have renamed our towers after Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista.

Making Our Hospital Easier To Navigate
Tri-City Medical Center has undergone an entire directional signage overhaul. We have now made it easier for patients to find departments and services. All new signs are color coordinated to match the rings in our caring hands logo with each color representing a city (Carlsbad-Healing Aqua, Oceanside-Tranquil Blue and Vista-Vitality Orange & Optimistic Yellow).

A Legacy To Be Proud Of

Our medical center has a storied history spanning six decades — a legacy to be proud of and one that deserves to be highlighted in a prominent way. Located on the first floor near the main entrance, this new Tri-City Medical Center: A Legacy to Be Proud Of history timeline wall includes six panels, each displaying achievements and major milestones from our decades of service. Panels include historical images, along with a written description of our major achievements during that era. A QR code on the wall leads tech-savvy viewers to a new tricitymed.org/history website where additional images, stories and a 10-minute, 60th anniversary video can be found. Art By Aaron Chang Highlights Our Local Communities

As part of the effort to bring more of the beauty of our region into the medical center, we worked with famed local photographer Aaron Chang to create more than 100 images of our communities to adorn the walls and elevators of the medical center. This art improves the look and feel of the hospital while improving navigation and hopefully brightening the days of our patients and staff.
