Dear North Coast Rep Supporters and Friends,
What a strange time we are all living through. We very much miss seeing all of you at the theatre.

I cannot express how grateful we all are for the outpouring of generosity we have received during these difficult times. Our donors, patrons, and friends have stepped up to help us to stay strong until we can return to full operations. Your belief and trust in us is inspiring and makes us want to strive to be even better. You have our heartfelt appreciation and thanks.
Our updated plans –
As we are unable to assemble in the theatre in the near future, we will be rehearsing and filming our next two productions for viewing on your home devices.
In our first season slot will be Necessary Sacrifices by Richard Hellesen. This play takes the historical two meetings between Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglas which took place in The White House during the Civil War, and based on the two men’s writings, dramatizes those encounters. Not only is the play fascinating, humorous and engaging, but offers a historical perspective to our current world events. Incredible actors Ray Chambers and Hawthorne James will assay the two great men.
Into our second season slot, we will move Same Time Next Year by Bernard Slade which was scheduled to be our opener for Season 39. This charming, funny, and touching play has delighted audiences for more than four decades. As the play traverses the affair of two people across 25 years, it touches on the nostalgia of many different eras and finds humor and pathos in the expanse of an ongoing relationship through life. We are excited to create it afresh for you and to welcome back to North Coast Rep the brilliant acting couple Katie MacNichol and Bruce Turk to bring it life.
For us – these are new adventures. We are rehearsing plays in mostly the same way we always have, but delivering them to you in a completely new way. Honestly, we would so much rather be with you in person at the theatre, but for now, we are doing our best to keep in contact and present you with great theatre as best as we are able to under present circumstances.
Stay safe. Be of good spirits. We will see you soon.
Warmest regards,

David Ellenstein, Artistic Director
