Spring Break brought a lot of smiles at the Boys & Girls Club of Vista. Club members participated in a Lego challenge to build a zipline car that would transport a Spring bunny. We enjoyed a trip to the Oceanside Surf Museum. While our field trip to Handel’s was cancelled due to rain, the Club kids enjoyed an ice cream sundae party at the Club. Basketball skills clinics geared up Club kids for our upcoming basketball camps.

Summer registration is happening now! Our camps are designed to keep kids and teens learning, active, and engaged through the school breaks. With weekly themed activities and flexible hours to participate, camps offer affordable support for families when school is out.

Enjoy a full day of fun at the Club! Activities include:

Register for field trips online– space is limited! Summer trips include: The Wave, Skyzone, Boomers, Indoor Skydiving, Laser Tag, Bowling, and the San Diego Zoo.

When school is out, the Club is in. We hope you can join us!

Share a Positive Memory with a Club member on May 11th during Kids Night Out

Do you want to make a positive difference in a child’s life in just one night? You can be that positive influence sharing a lasting Club memory during Kids Night Out.

Each mentor and their assigned Club member competes in fun carnival-themed activities that highlight our three priority outcome areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Character & Leadership. Adults will learn first hand about the work the Club does and how much it means to Club kids.

Adults and Club members share a meal together, complete team games finishing with a special awards presentation at 7:30 pm. Make a difference getting to know the next generation of leaders in our community.

We are looking for event sponsors from $250 and up including T-shirt and Dinner sponsors to help make this event memorable.

More info and registration can be found here.

KIDS NIGHT OUT INFO

Our Club members as part of the K-Kids service Club led a donation drive to support LYFF (Love Your Feral Felines). According to our most recent National Outcome Survey, 90% of our Boys & Girls Club of Vista Club members care about helping people (or animals) that are in need of help! The future is bright!

We are honored and excited to announce that we have been chosen to participate in a special charitable giving campaign, sponsored and funded by Target. And you have the chance to help direct a portion of Target’s donation to us!

Now through December 31st, vote for us through the Target Circle program to help determine how Target’s donation will be divvied up. Find out more about Target Circle here: www.target.com/circle

We’re asking our supporters to help us make the most of this incredible opportunity. Every vote counts to help us receive a portion of the available Target funds as we continue our mission to empower every Club member, through safe and impactful experiences to: graduate high school with a plan for college or a career, contribute to their community, and live a healthy life. empower every Club member, through safe and impactful experiences to: graduate high school with a plan for college or a career, contribute to their community, and live a healthy life.

Don’t forget, as you earn more votes, you can keep voting multiple times during the campaign!

Thank you for your support, and we encourage you to share your support for us (and your thanks to Target) on social media throughout the duration of the voting!

Volunteer Spotlight – Our Cesar Chavez Day of Service was a HUGE success! We had 26 volunteers from California State University San Marcos and Mira Costa College who put together 400 book kits for our Club kids to take home.

They read one on one with our Kindergarten and First Grade Club kids and even played some fun games in the gym. VOLUNTEER
