Vista Easter Egg Hunt Held Saturday

Vista. CA – Despite the gloomy forecast, the Pride of Vista Lions Club & Santa For A Cause knew that the show must go on. That show just so happened to be the annual Vista Easter egg hunt. In the roughly 12 years that the Pride of Vista Lions & Santa For A Cause have been putting on the Easter egg hunt, it has never been rained on, until this past weekend. They, along with Vista’s own Santa Claus, JC Wynne, were determined that this would not be the first time. They contacted the city of Vista and were able to find an alternate venue at the Gloria McClellan Senior Center. And while it was not optimal, they made it work.

  • Dedicated VHS Football players

The Easter bonnet contest, the hula hoop contest, musical chairs and all the regular raffles were able to go off without a hitch. There were eggs aplenty and even photos with the Easter Bunny! Katie Melendez, Deputy Mayor & Vista City council member, even came by and helped out with announcing winners to the raffles. Several of the Vista High School Panthers Football players were also on hand to help out in whatever way they could, including showing the little ones how to play musical chairs. Also assisting with kids crafts were seven City of Vista Youth Commissioners.

Many other local egg hunts had to be cancelled, moved up or postponed due to the rain but the Pride of Vista Lions wanted to do everything they could to keep it going. It took a lot of teamwork and patience but it could definitely be judged as a success by the smiles and laughter of all in attendance.

A BIG Thank You to Texas Roadhouse for the Easter Eggs filled with candy and coupon for a free kids meal; and to Maryann Vinci & Art Haeussler for the two bicycles in Memory of friend and Owner of Brooklyn Boyz Pizza Dennis Comiskey; and city staff.
