On April 9, 2016, at 12:09 a.m., Vista Traffic deputies were dispatched to a fatal traffic collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of South Santa Fe Avenue and Civic Center Drive.
One vehicle, a BMW, rolled over and landed in the parking lot of a nearby business. The driver, and sole occupant of the BMW, was transported to Palomar Medical Center with serious life threatening injuries.
The second vehicle, a Honda, struck a traffic signal pole after colliding with the BMW. The driver, and sole occupant of the Honda, was deceased at the scene.
Personnel from the Vista Traffic Unit are conducting the investigation.
