North County woman builds sugar-free donut business in response to pandemic
Vista, CA, October, 2021 — The latest Vista Made video episode features Kimy Aguirre of Kimy Gets Skinny Donuts, a North County woman who has developed what is believed to be the first commercial sugar-free donuts made from steel cut oats that are sweet, moist and contain less than 50 calories each.
Aguirre was inspired to invent the donuts as part of her journey to lose weight she gained during the pandemic while caring for her five children. The donuts are now sold throughout San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange County, including at The Camp Transformation Center, a leading Southern California chain of fitness centers.
