Spotlight of June Events:
June 16 – Father’s Day Celebration
June 21 – Summer Solstice Party
June 27 – National Bingo Day

Shredding & E-Waste Recycling Event at Civic Center on June 10from 9am-12pm
The City of Vista and EDCO are sponsoring a FREE shredding event. Limited to twobanker boxes (10”x12”x15”) per household. A certified shredding truck will be present during the event, and all items will beshredded ONSITE!
Unwanted electronics will also be collected, including TVs, computer monitors, printers,fax machines, VCRs, etc. However, no household hazardous waste (HHW) material will be accepted.
Also available will be free mulch for Vista residents (while supplies last) see
www.edcodisposal.com for stipulations.

When: Saturday, June 10, 2023 – Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location: Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista 92084 (lower parking lot off of Alta Vista Dr.)

San Diego Food Bank
The San Diego Food Bank operates a Senior Citizen food distribution site in the upper parking lot on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 11am-12pm. On that day there will be limited parking available in the upper parking lot. For more info on their program: SanDiegoFoodBank.org or call the Food Bank at 866-350-3663 to determine eligibility.

Culture Caravan Launch Party
Date: June 19th – Time: 1-4pm
1-2pm– Mingle, Snack, Socialize with Passengers and Vendors
2pm – Presentation, followed by Trip Registration
Where: Park Terrace Café, Gloria McLellan Senior Center
No RSVP necessary. Just show up!

Sunset Cruise – Once again, we set sail on the wonderful Sunset Cruise! Experience the one of-a-kind happy hour with displayed hors d’oeuvres, tray-passed desserts, all to be enjoyed in the nice ocean breeze, with indoor, and outdoor dining areas. Bask in San Diego views, live DJ entertainment, and a breathtaking California sunset on the water. The Sights and Sips Cocktail Cruise has been a popular staple in summer cruises going into its eleventh year!
Friday, June 23 – 4:30pm-9pm $91
Stay tuned for more fun and exciting trips to be unveiled at the summer launch party, June 19th from 1pm-4pm at the Gloria McClellan Senior Center. Shop local craft vendors, enjoy complementary snacks, and early bird registration after the show!

Transportation Programs
Vista’s Senior Center offers transportation services to registered seniors.

Transportation to the center for lunch is available to Vista residents age 60+. Suggested contribution: $1
Call 760-643-5288 to schedule a ride. Reserve 2 business days prior to the lunch day and one week ahead of special events.

painting and art activities
Social Bridge – Monday,11am-12pmCraft Club – Tuesday, 1-3pm
Mahjong Club – Tuesday, 1-3pm
Knitting – Friday, 9am-12pm
Quilt Busters – 2nd & 4th Thursday, 1-3pmWalking Club – 4th Wednesday of the month from 9-10am. Meet in Senior Center lobby to walk Brengle Park area. This is now the regular meeting place and walking location.
Music Appreciation Class – 2nd & 4th Wednesday,1-3 pm
