Last Saturday afternoon a group of volunteers from North Coast Church began the process of decorating Historical Vista Village for the Christmas celebration season.  They strung lights on 38 trees, 19 lamposts, the gazebo and also wrapped many sign posts with Christmas ribbon.

Connor McFadden, North Coast Church Community Service Pastor, said “This is a service event that they look forward to each year.”  Thirty eight plus volunteers had a great time getting Downtown ready for the holiday wonderland on Friday, December 5th as Winterfest kicks off  the with the annual Christmas Tree lighting.  Winterfest festivities will begin at 5:00 pm and continues until 9:00 pm, and featuring horse-drawn carriage rides, live music and caroling.  The following day, before and after the Parade, which starts at 1:00 pm, there will be carnival rides, pictures with Santa, comic book characters, Christmas and craft vendors, artificial snow, and jumps for the kids scattered throughout the Village, all along Main Street and Broadway.

Avoid the crowds at the mall by shopping locally. Come visit the many retail stores in the Village, such as dress and gift shops, breweries, wine tasting, pizza, mexican food or a steak at The Village Pub.
