Lunar New Year

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with friends. Visit the Senior Center Lunch Desk or call (760) 744-5535 x3607 to make your reservation.

San Marcos Hike

Bernardo Mountain/Lake Hodges

Strenuous: We will go under the 15 freeway, walk along the shoreline of the north side of Lake Hodges and cross Felicita Creek before we begin the ascent of Bernardo Mountain. Expect 7.4 miles on the trail and 800’ of elevation gain.

Saturday, February 3 • Sign-in starts at 8:30 a.m. with hike beginning at 9 a.m. • Free

Meeting location: San Dieguito River Park Parking Lot, 12655 Sunset Dr., Escondido 92025 (south of Via Rancho Parkway past The Hodges Golf Learning Center)

Friendship Bracelets

February is National Friendship month! Come

out to the park for some fresh air and create a

friendship bracelet.

You bring the creativity, and we’ll bring all the supplies you need! While supplies last.

Wednesday, February 7 • 3 p.m. • Free Woodland Park • 671 Woodland Parkway , Near the play structure by the pool.

Family Night Craft Pick-Up

Fluffy Valentine Slime – Wednesday, February 14 • $5 Community Center • 3 Civic Center Drive Mix basic ingredients to create fun and fluffy slime. Add in pink and red acrylic paint for a Valentine’s extravaganza! Parent supervision is required.

Family Night activities bring families together. Crafts/activities are intended for children ages three to ten. Each On-The-Go kit contains one craft or activity. Adjust quantity when registering for each child participating. REGISTER HERE

Valentine’s Day

Aqua Aerobics

Hosted in-house by our certified Water Safety Instructors. Come and enjoy a guided warm-up, motivational cardio workout exercises followed by a cool down and stretch. This is a gentle class geared towards facilitating a healthy, active lifestyle. Beginners welcome, equipment provided.

Location: Las Posas Park Pool

Dates: Saturday & Sunday – Time: 8-8:45 a.m. | 9-9:45 a.m. – Fee: $6 drop-in fee only

Lap Swim

Location: Las Posas Park Pool – Dates/Times: Monday-Thursday | 6:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday-Sunday | 6:30-11:30 a.m.

Fee: $4 drop-in fee or included with Splash Pass.

Open Recreation Swim

Open Recreation Swim is for individuals or families to enjoy the pool and swim. Please visit

www.san-marcos.net/watersafety for a list of pool rules. Pool heated to 84°F. Please note: if the projected high temperature for the day is below 60°F, or there is thunder and lightning, open Rec Swim will be cancelled that day. We will remain open during rain.

Location: Las Posas Pool

Dates: Saturday-Sunday – Time: 12-4 p.m.

Fee: $4 drop-in fee or included with Splash Pass.

Splash Pass Membership

Purchase a Splash Pass membership for year-round access, or pay a drop-in fee for an intense or easy workout. Pool is heated and outdoors. Please bring your own equipment.

All events are free for you and your family to come together to swim, and learn about Water Safety!

Recreation Scholarships Available!

The Friends of San Marcos Parks & Recreation have donated $10,000 this for recreation scholarships! These scholarships are available through the City of San Marcos Parks & Recreation and are contingent upon meeting certain financial eligibility requirements. Park Shelter Reservations Available

The City has 22 designated reservable park picnic shelters at 13 different City parks that may be reserved to host your next celebration. A reservation must be made for groups of 25 people or more and groups who wish to have a inflatable or pony/petting zoo. Groups under 25 people can still make a reservation or choose to use the park on a first come first serve basis.

Reservable park picnic shelters can be reserved online a minimum of 8 days in advance and at the Parks and Recreation office 4 days in advance of your desired date. Reservations are paid in full at the time of booking.   For more information, please visit www.san-marcos.net/reserveapark or call the office at 760-744-9000.
