Oceanside Museum of Art Re-opens to the Public Thursdays-Sundays, Oceanside OMA is excited to welcome you back inside the museum galleries! They have newly-installed exhibitions ready to be seen in person from noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays. OMA members have access to exhibitions one hour earlier than visitors. Timed tickets are required for all and must be reserved in advance. COVID-19 protocols including masks will be in place.

First Friday Art Walk Oceanside April 2, Artist Alley Celebrate the thriving arts and culture scene in the heart of downtown TONIGHT when the Art Walk returns! From 5-9 p.m. enjoy arts, jewelry, pottery, crafts and more from local artists including live music. This free, family-friendly event is produced by the Oceanside Friends of the Arts, a nonprofit group committed to the enhancement, encouragement and support of arts-related activities in Oceanside.

Friends of Oceanside Parks Fundraiser April 7, Knockout Pizza Oceanside Get your pizza fix while supporting a good cause! On Wednesday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Knockout Pizza in Downtown Oceanside will donate a portion of pizza sales to support the Friends of Oceanside Parks. Spring Into Reading Challenge for Youth Through April 30, Oceanside Youth ages 0-18 are encouraged to join the Oceanside Public Library’s spring reading event. Kids and teens can earn a prize bag with books and a craft activity as well as complete fun optional activities relating to Earth Month. All participants who are registered are automatically entered in a weekly prize drawing for a gift card.

Earth Month: Mayor’s Challenge for Sustainability Through April 30, Oceanside Mayor Esther Sanchez is challenging the Oceanside community to take the pledge to be more sustainable. It takes only 60 seconds to pledge plus you’ll be eligible to win exciting prizes, including a daily raffle where you could win money towards your utility bill! Additionally, by completing sustainable activities in your home and neighborhood, you can earn the City points in the Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge.

Studio ACE Painting Class: Acrylics for Teens April 7 and 14, Online Studio ACE is excited to announce a new two-part class for teens the next two Wednesdays. Led by student instructor, Jackie Aguirre, the Acrylics for Teens class will help students discover the beauty of the versatile and extremely easy-to-use paint. The cost is $20 per household for both classes, and supply kits can be purchased for an additional fee through Studio ACE. Classes will be via ZOOM.

Chocolate, Cigars & Wine Pairing April 10, Beach House Winery Next Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., enjoy five artisan chocolates by So Rich Chocolates, custom-made to pair with five delicious wines while experiencing a premier Southern Draw Cigar. Tickets are $25 for chocolate and wine only, or $42 for chocolate, cigar and wine. Prepayment is required by April 9. This event has limited seating and will practice current COVID-19 protocols.

RESTAURANT GRANT OPPORTUNITY

Restaurants Care Resilience Fund Restaurants are among the businesses hardest hit by the pandemic. The California Restaurant Foundation has received a $200,000 shareholder-funded charitable grant from SDG&E to help fund $2,000 grants to single-unit restaurants in San Diego County. Applications will be open April 11-18 with priority given to restaurants owned by women and people of color.
