Check out these events and programs happening in Downtown Oceanside over the next two weeks:

“Anything Goes” Oct. 22-24, The Star Theatre Don’t miss the final weekend for this award-winning musical with a comically colorful assemblage of passengers. While sailing between New York and England, characters Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life. Song, dance, and farcical antics ensue in this Broadway classic. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. BUY TICKETS

“The Curtain Rises Again” Oct. 23, The Brooks Theater Celebrate the comeback of live entertainment this Saturday beginning at 7:30 p.m. with some of your favorite Oceanside Theatre Company stars, as well as performances by some young performers from OTC’s Youth Outreach program. There will also be a special appearance by Shane Hall, award-winning Oceanside musician and director of OTC’s Music Series of concerts. BUY TICKETS

Dia de los Muertos Festival Oct. 24, Downtown Oceanside Returning this Sunday to Downtown from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. to celebrate the traditional Day of the Dead! This multicultural family-friendly event will feature traditional live entertainment, community and family altars built in memory of loved ones, music, Classic Car Show with car altares and marigolds from Mellano & Company, Day of the Dead bread, Chalk Cemetery and children’s activity areas along with retail and food booths. Haunted Market Oct. 28, Pier View Way and Tremont St. Eat, drink and be scary at the Sunset Market Haunted Market next Thursday. From 5-9 p.m., this free Halloween event will have trick-or-treating for kids 12 and under, plus special scary entertainment and contests at the main stage: Haunted Market Costume Parade at 6 p.m., Evil Laugh and Blood Curdling Scream Contest at 8 p.m. and Halloween music all night by DJ Steve O from Rock the House Entertainment. ‘Tis the Season to Shop Local Apply through Nov. 7 Calling all Oceanside shops and brick-and-mortar businesses! The Sixth Annual ‘Tis the Season to Shop Local is returning throughout Oceanside from Small Business Saturday, Nov. 27-Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021. The program will again include the Merry Makers Fair, Sip & Shop event and Window Decorating contest, plus new this year – a digital treasure hunt. Applications accepted through Nov. 7. Oceanside Small Business Grant Program Apply through Nov. 19 Applications are now being accepted! Using funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), grants ranging from $1,000 to $7,500 will be awarded to eligible Downtown Oceanside businesses based on a standard rubric factoring in business tier and financial impact of COVID-19.
