Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony & Gift Market Dec. 2, Sunset Market During this special Sunset Market, Oceanside will welcome the holiday season with a Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at Regal Cinema Plaza at 6 p.m.. This annual holiday event will be filled with activities for the whole family from 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday, including visits with Santa, kids crafts and special amusements like a zip line and inflatable slides. Gift Giving Toy Drive Through Dec. 14, MainStreet Oceanside MainStreet Oceanside is partnering with Friends of Oceanside Dia de los Muertos for our Annual Gift Giving Toy Drive, which provides toys for Oceanside children at Balderrama Child Development Center in Eastside and at Club Crown Heights. Our goal is to get all children on our Angel Giving Trees at least one item on their holiday list. Bring your nonperishable donations during business hours to the MainStreet office, H & M Military Supplies, Dorothy’s Military Shop or Cotton Patch. Drop-off is also available at the Oceanside Morning Farmers Market Dec. 9 and 16. Volunteers will unload items from your trunk at the northeast corner of North Coast Highway and Pier View Way. Rock & Roll Christmas Concert with the Mar Dels Dec. 5, Civic Center Plaza Kick off your holidays with some rock ‘n’ roll, as the City of Oceanside and the Friends of Oceanside Parks present a free Christmas concert with the Mar Dels. “A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play” Dec. 10-19, Brooks Theater A Downtown Oceanside holiday tradition returns live on stage as Oceanside Theatre Company takes you to the studios of WOTC radio for Charles Dickens’ classic tale of miserly curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge. An OTC original adaptation now set to music, “A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play” offers fun for the whole family in six performances: at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Dec. 10 and 17, and Saturdays, Dec. 11 and 18, and 2 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 12 and 19.
