Mother’s Day Is Sweet Applications Through April 1, Downtown Oceanside Calling all Oceanside restaurants, shops, breweries, wineries and sweet makers! We are now accepting applications for Mother’s Day Is Sweet. Returning to Downtown Oceanside on Wednesday, May 4, from 3-6 p.m., our spring family tasting and shopping event will offer dessert and craft beverage pairings at participating Downtown shops, restaurants and tasting rooms, plus the new Mother’s Day Is Sweet VIP Experience and Mother’s Day Is Sweet Challenge. Tickets go on sale Friday.
Redistricting Public Hearing March 9, City Council Chambers All cities with city council districts must engage in “redistricting” every 10 years following the census to ensure all districts continue to have equal populations and follow all state and federal laws. Join the City of Oceanside for the final Public Hearing tonight at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers when the City Council will vote on the final draft district map. Beer Town Grand Opening March 12, Beer Town Beer Town is holding its Grand Opening on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 507 N. Coast Highway. The mission of the beer hall and bottle shop is to bring beer to the Oceanside and San Diego County area that otherwise may not find its way here. While serving brunch, lunch and dinner, Beer Town wants to show the beer lovers of Oceanside and San Diego some of the great beers that other regions are producing.
Artist Awakening March 12, Artist Alley Oceanside Experience a celebration of art, culture and humanity at Artist Awakening XIII. Brewbies March 12, Bagby Beer Co. The 12th Annual Brewbies Festival benefiting Keep A Breast returns Saturday from 1-5 p.m. Enjoy an array of signature pink beers from 30-plus breweries, including Downtown’s own Bagby Beer, Booze Brothers Brewing Co., Breakwater Brewing Co., Northern Pine Brewing and Stone Brewing. All tickets include a Brewbies glass, bracelet and unlimited samplings of over 80 craft beers. Tickets are $69 online and at the door.
Movie at the Pier March 12, Junior Seau Pier Amphitheatre Movies at the Pier returns Saturday with the “The Sandlot.” The movie starts at dusk so plan on being here around 5:30 p.m. Dress warmly and bring a blanket or chair to sit on. “Into the Woods” March 18-May 1, Brooks Theater A co-production by New Village Arts and Oceanside Theatre Company, this Stephen Sondheim musical brings well-known fairytale characters to musical life. Previewing March 18-25 and opening March 26, “Into the Woods” will transform the Oceanside Theatre Company’s stage into a magic land where almost anything can and does happen.
Plant Workshop March 19, Rising Co. Join Rising Co. next Saturday for an evening of plant care tips with Rising Co. merchant Janet Shepherd. Owner of Ornamental Plant Boutique, Shepherd will lead a discussion about houseplant care and troubleshooting. Each participant will receive a new plant to pot up into a handmade ceramic pot. Space is limited to 15 people. Cost is $45 and includes complimentary beverages by Spindrift Spiked.

At this OM Fest event, women performers will celebrate women artists in two private performances at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. next Sunday.
