Downtown Ambassador Program
Through Sept. 3, west end of the Pier View Way pedestrian underpass From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, Downtown Ambassadors are stationed at the Information Booth on Pier View Way on the west end of the pedestrian underpass to welcome you to Downtown Oceanside and to provide information to help you explore the area.

Art Auction Oceanside Museum of Art, Through Aug. 1
Featuring artists from Long Beach to San Ysidro, the 2022 Art Auction offers art lovers and collectors a chance to own works of art from our region. All proceeds from the auction help provide continued support of local artists and OMA’s dynamic exhibition fund so the museum can continue to bring you the art and stories of Southern California artists. View the Art Auction Preview Exhibition at the museum through July 31. Bidding closes at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug 1.

gO’side Free Downtown Shuttle Program
Through Nov. 5, Downtown Oceanside From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m daily, the new gO’side Downtown shuttle provides riders with a free, fun and safe way to travel around Downtown Oceanside through Nov. 5. Through this new electric vehicle shuttle pilot program, five-passenger electric shuttles can be hailed via the Ride Circuit smartphone app or by flagging down a shuttle in an area that is safe for passenger boarding from Oceanside Harbor south to Vista Way in the area west of Interstate 5.

“Surf & Rescue” Presentation and Book Signing
July 27, California Surf Museum Come to the California Surf Museum for a presentation and book signing of “Surf & Rescue: George Freeth and the Birth of California Beach Culture” by author Patrick Moser. A compelling merger of biography and sports history, “Surf and Rescue” brings to light the forgotten figure whose novel way of seeing the beach sparked the imaginations of people around the world. Admission is $5 or free for Surf Museum Members. RSVP to 760-721-6876. Doors open at 6 p.m. Presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

July 30, Hill Street Country Club Join Addy Lyon in a farewell show from 4-8 p.m. next Saturday at Hill Street Country Club as she gets ready to begin a new chapter in Los Angeles studying Art Therapy. At 6 p.m. there will be a special screening of her short film in the gallery. 15% of all art sold at the show will be donated to The Hill Street Country Club.

Write On, Oceanside! Writing Contest
Aug. 1, Oceanside Public Library Join Oceanside Public Library in gearing up for Write On, Oceanside! In 500 words of prose or poetry, share your story of “Getting Through to the Other Side … in Oceanside!” The writing contest is open to adults 18 and older and teens 13-17. Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded during the library’s annual literary festival to celebrate and inspire local authors, which returns in person Aug. 13.

Music for the People July 30, Goat Hill Park Bring the family next Saturday and enjoy live music, raffles, beer, pizza and ice cream at this second annual fundraiser by Solis Team Real Estate. Ginger Roots will be performing and food will be prepared by Chef Daniel Pundik of Saucey Mouths. Proceeds will benefit Humanity Showers, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and Last Chance at Life. TIckets are $22.
