Enjoy a free Golden Hour Champagne Toast Thursday to Sunday as you watch one of The Shore Room’s skilled bartenders expertly saber a sparkling bottle of champagne. From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, The Noble Experience Prohibition New Year’s Eve Party at The Shore Room will include live music, a full cocktail menu of Prohibition-style cocktails, a New Year’s toast at midnight, party favors and Roaring ’20s costumed fun! At Piper Restaurant, make reservations for the NYE Dinner Saturday or New Year’s Day Farm Fresh Brunch from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Scientist turned comedian Tim Lee hosts the show with several top nerd comics in the state. The show concludes with the Nerd Olympics, a game show where audience members compete. Jan. 19-Feb. 21, Downtown Oceanside We’re bringing a new, lively spirit of Mardi Gras to our city during the months of January and February. Created by Downtown Oceanside businesses and sponsored by MainStreet Oceanside, Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, Visit Oceanside and the Oceanside Cultural District, the first-ever O’side Mardi Gras celebration will kick off Thursday, Jan. 19, with Mardi Gras Night at the Sunset Market. Downtown businesses will create a Mardi Gras/Carnival experience within their establishments with live music, in-store events and specials, concluding with a Fat Tuesday celebration on Feb. 21. Local businesses can sign up through Jan. 13.
