Bike the Coast November 4, Pier Amphitheater

Bike the Coast brings together first-time riders, experienced groups, and every type of cyclist in between. The only prerequisite? A desire to get close to the natural beauty of San Diego’s stunning coastline. Routes of 7, 15, 24, 50, or 100 miles travel through Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, and Del Mar, beginning and ending with a celebration at the Oceanside Pier with food, craft beer, live music, expo shopping, and fun. Punk Rock Food Drive November 11, Belching Beaver

Punk Rock Food Drive is a concert event that collects food and funds to benefit local food banks. This event is a low-cost, all ages experience to entertain families and friends while providing an opportunity to give back to the community. Since the first show in 2009, Punk Rock Food Drive has raised over 246,000 meals. That’s enough to feed a family of four for over 50 years! While that may seem like a lot of food our community can always raise more. Each food drive encourages everyone to organize food drives at their own businesses, schools and churches. ’Tis the Season to Shop Local is a fun, distinctly local holiday celebration inviting our community to explore Oceanside retail establishments and to shop local this holiday season. From Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25, through Sunday, Dec. 10, this award-winning lineup of holiday programs and events will once again feature a mobile scavenger hunt, a craft beer and wine tasting event, a makers fair offering handcrafted goods, and a tree lighting celebration — all amid the glow of holiday lights and the cheerful sounds of live holiday music and carolers. The survey seeks to provide context for local climate mitigation efforts, inquire about the ways in which households, businesses, and individual community members are managing their carbon footprints, and solicit opinion on potential emissions reduction measures in the updated CAP. The survey includes 26 questions and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.



Beautifying the Transit Center Pedestrian Tunnel

The North County Transit District (NCTD) today announced the award of $144,000 from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Clean California Local Grant Program for a public art project and security features in the Oceanside Transit Center pedestrian tunnel. NCTD will use the funding to enhance the pedestrian tunnel to be more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing, improving safety and the customer experience. FIND OUT MORE
