Bonsall, CA – October, 2023 During October Tavi, Wild Wonders’ youngest cheetah, and Yara, his yellow lab companion, will celebrate their second anniversary together.  These two have been best buds since they were introduced two years ago.

Tavi had a rough start in life.  He was an only cub, and frequently mother cheetahs will either abandon solo cubs or stop lactating.  Because of Wild Wonders’ long history of experience with cheetahs, Wild Wonders was selected to be his forever home.

Yara was chosen as a companion for Tavi to help him learn to be brave.  Having a dog as a playmate would give him confidence, which is much needed in his role of teaching people about cheetah conservation.

Although they’ve grown quite a bit, they still roughhouse together and have a great time playing in their exercise yard every day.

It’s taken a lot of work and a lot of patience, but it’s been a heartwarming time watching them grow up together.  Wild Wonders will be celebrating this amazing friendship throughout October with toys and treats.

Wild Wonders is open 7 days a week and hosts privately guided tours by reservation only.

About Wild Wonders:  The facility in Bonsall, California, is where kids and adults can “tame” their curiosity for wildlife.  Through live interactive programs and tours at our site or yours, our wildlife educators and our 100 animal ambassadors will take you on a dynamic adventure you will not forget.  Our goal is to excite the public and foster a desire to preserve and learn about wildlife and the important role they play in the planet we share.
