Winter Sierra….Last Friday night’s main event was Vista’s annual tree-lighting ceremony, which Mayor Judy Ritter began with a cheerful holiday message, wishing all of Vista a Merry Christmas.  As the lights began to shine, families gathered around the tree, which stands in front of the Vista Cinepolis Theater. There was also a Santa Claus there for excited children to take pictures with!  All of Vista’s City Council attended the event to witness the tradition.

Vista locals kicked off the holiday season with the Vista Village Winterfest. With the street lined with vendors and the Christmas tree lighting up the night, spirits were high as families milled about. Some attractions included a horse drawn carriage ride, lovely holiday carolers and live music. Some businesses that attended included Pola Skincare, Usborne Books and Classic Chariots, among many others. Vendors sold a variety of possible holiday gifts, from clothing and jewelry to art supplies and recycled crayons!

If you were there at the event, you may have also seen a holiday float being put together for the holiday parade on Saturday, December 5th. Vista’s leap into the holiday season continued on Saturday for the parade, always enjoyed by cheerful Vista residents.
