Jeff Dufek San Marcos Baseball Coach on the win: “Our batters fell behind in the count as they executed well against Torrey Pines starting pitcher Eric Van Valkenberg as he did a good job as starting pitcher and went for his fastball and then his breaking ball for strikes.” “The home 4th inning was key for us which is a tribute to our veteran players who don’t get rattled and to stay focus it is only a 7 inning game.”
“Brett Williams did well with the sacrifice bunt as the two runners advanced to 3b and 2b As for Zach Ferrell he is a selfish player hits the first pitch up in the zone working on home runs and sacrifice flies in practice everyday.” said Coach Dufek.
