Reminder: Senior Communications Survey Closes September 18
Vista Seniors, we want to hear from you! The City is conducting a survey on how our seniors receive news about programs, events, services, and more. The input you share in the Senior Center Communications Survey (available both online and in-person) will help the City develop a communications plan designed to better inform and connect our senior community.
Physical surveys are available in the lobby of the Gloria McClellan Senior Center (1200 Vale Terrace Dr.) where they can be dropped off in our official survey drop-off box. Take the survey and share your thoughts today. Please feel free to share this newsletter or the survey info with others who might not be signed up to receive e-notifications from the City of Vista! VCC x North County Ford: Stuff the Truck
Help the Vista Community Clinic (VCC) stock their new Resource Hub! VCC and North County Ford are teaming up throughout the month of September to help provide food and essential items to local patients and families in need. Donations can be dropped off with North County Ford (450 W. Vista Way) any time from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., September 1-30.
Some nonperishable items needed include: canned tuna or chicken, canned fruits and vegetables, baby food, shelf-stable milk, cereal/oatmeal, dried fruit, and more.
Some perishable items needed include: toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap/bodywash/shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, diapers and baby wipes, and more.

Vista Fire Rescue: Open House Saturdays
October is Fire Prevention Month! Celebrate with Vista Fire Rescue (VFR) at their Saturday Open Houses all month long (with the last open house being in November).
Each week, experience family-friendly hands-on demonstrations, meet your VFR team, enjoy snacks, and take home prizes! VFR team members can’t wait to meet you, and would love to share info on fire safety, wildfire protection, and other quick/easy ways you can protect your family and home.

Fall Prevention Week Spotlight:
Introduction to Senior Fitness Room Workout
We love our seniors! That’s why we’re marking September 21-24 as Fall Prevention Week at the Gloria McClellan Senior Center.
Did you know we have a gym especially for Vista seniors? No matter your experience level, we’d like to invite seniors to join the kickstart of the Introduction to Fitness Room Workout classes! On Wednesday, September 23, starting at 12:30 p.m. in the Park Terrace Cafe, you can learn how to use the fitness room equipment to build strength and improve balance. Attendees will also learn how to create workout programs to use both in the gym and at home.
Check out other Awareness Week activities and classes by visiting the senior services page here. All activities, including the Introduction to Fitness class, will be held in the Park Terrace Cafe at the Gloria McClellan Senior Center (1400 Vale Terrace Dr.).
