Art That Excites Naming Contest Through April 1 Help us name Downtown Oceanside’s next public art mural! Mayor Esther Sanchez and stained glass artist Don Myers recently placed the final two pieces of the Ocean Glass Mosaic Mural. Our thanks to all who helped create the 12-by-16-foot mural by assembling its six panels or by sponsoring a sea animal or plant. Now we are seeking the community’s involvement once again in naming the mural, which represents a community of local sea life as it resides below the surface of the Pacific Ocean just off our beaches. The winner of the contest will receive a $100 gift card to the Downtown restaurant of your choice. To enter, follow @mainstreetoceanside and comment with one or more names for the mural by April 1. The selected mural name — and the winner — will be announced at the installation of the mural.
