Willauer-Contributing Writer-Carlsbad High School-Friday, December 5, 2025: For the Division II CIF State Semi Final Southern California Regional Championship in a battle of undefeated squads, the Kares of Rio Hondo Prep continue their undefeated winning streak at 15-0 behind the 4 touchdown performance of Christian Lee rushed for 102 yards scored 4 touchdowns of 2,5,2,4 defeated the previously undefeated Eagles of Santa Fe by a 26-21 score. Nathaniel Shine contributed for the Kares as he rushed for 117 yards.
Mark Carson head football coach at Rio Hondo Prep: “Christian Lee 4 touchdowns is amazing he’s one of the rising stars in high school football in the Southern Section of CA and is someone to watch moving forward.” “Santa Fe Christian has a great squad and gave us all we handle it was a great game.” “For us to prepare for them I have never seen a team at that passing level as they did a great job at throwing the ball around, the highlight was our defense as they made a huge stop near the end of the game.”
Running back Christian Lee on his performance vs. Santa Fe Christian: “It was my offensive line as they did most of the work for me as they opened up the holes.” Santa Fe Christian is a very physical team, they did their job but we just executed well both ways.”
Santa Fe Christian ends their season at 13-1 was led by qb Dax Labrum as he passed for 233 yards along with 2 touchdown passes to Brady Berg (19 yards receiving) the other touchdown was scored by running back Lincoln Mundis who scored the other touchdown. Chase Wooley led in receiving for 80 yards.
This is Rio Hondo’s 3rd Regional Appearance in a row won 3 Regional Titles in a row. Will play Sonora for the championship at Saddleback College at 11:30 am.
