City Heights Community Development Corporation and NEW LVL establish new partnership to coordinate and align housing stability and eviction prevention support for single mothers and families countywide
San Diego, CA (August, 2026) – Local nonprofits City Heights Community Development Corporation (City Heights CDC) and NEW LVL have established a new partnership to champion housing stability and eviction protection support for single mothers and families across San Diego County. The new partnership reflects a shared commitment of the two organizations to combine resources, know-how, and programming in housing stability and economic empowerment to create a greater collective impact for the entire region.

Keeping families housed and creating pathways to long-term stability is at the heart of our work, and partnerships like this allow us to have an even greater impact.”
City Heights CDC is a 40-plus year anchor institution in City Heights and a regional leader in economic development, affordable housing, and workforce readiness across San Diego County. The nonprofit manages a portfolio of 406 affordable housing units and has successfully prevented more than 300 evictions through its Coordinated Eviction Prevention System (CEPS) and One Month Away programs. NEW LVL works to stabilize and empower single mothers at risk of losing their housing through the Housing Stability & Thrive Program, which provides rental subsidies, financial workshops, and empowerment services.

City Heights CDC and NEW LVL will now align and collaborate on the successful CEPS, One Month Away, and the Housing Stability & Thrive Program. The organizations will refer eligible participants between programs, coordinate services to reduce duplication and fill gaps, and share information and resources in support of participant success. The two organizations will also explore new opportunities for joint outreach, programming, and community engagement.
Beyond the established housing and financial programs, participants from both organizations will also have access to City Heights CDC’s new Community AI Lab. The City Heights CDC Community AI Lab is a new community technology and learning space that may be used for approved workshops, digital literacy activities, and related participant supports connected to this collaboration. Access to the City Heights CDC Community AI Lab in addition to housing stability, will further empower participants through workforce training and technology skills development.
